Woked with a few of their nurses in LTC setting....they seemed happy. As a facility, we had no complaints with them.

I am a nurse from the Philippines, I am looking for Filipino nurses who are presently working in any Pennsylvania hospitals. There's an agency who is recruiting me right now and promise me to work there. Could you please tell me the pros and cons of Filipino nurses working there? Thanks.

I am a nurse from Canada not the Philippines, but feel you might be making a good choice. We have a lot of Philippine nurses here and they seem to like it. Benefits( sometimes free education for you and your dependents ) and salary in PA are good( spread between what you make and what you need to spend to live is good, compared to NYC ). If you speak Spanish thats a plus. Downside of PA is the winters can be colder than you may be used to( for me they were warmer !! ).

Not so busy in Philly area these days.

When I started as a nurse in 1977, it was Filipino nurses who had come to a Misericordia and intercity teaching hospital as staff, that took me under their wings and helped me become the strong nurse I am today. Thanks always to Lita andTomasina for starting me on the right path.

Reception you will receive will vary on facility, depending on if it's intercity or rural area or if the staff have beeninvolved with multicultural professionals before.

Snow on average is about 12-15 inches each winter across the state. Some areas are mountanous, many hills but lush green with trees AND #2 state for elderly population.
