hi everyone,
i'm a newbie to the allnursing site and just wanted to say hello. i'm a nursing student w/ only two semesters to go until graduation!! yipee!! i'll be moving back home to nj with the anticipation of working in nyc and finishing up my four year. i'd like to hear from some nyc rn's as to what are some great hospitals to work at and what the going pay rate is for new grads. i'd really like to attend columbia u and have looked into nyu's medical center, mount sinai and ny presbyterian hospitals. any info would be soooo greatly appreciated!
thanks tons,
lily

I am also a nursing student but at our registration orientation today I was told that many of the students in our program start in the 60-70K range... My friend's sister just graduated nursing school and she started in an oncology department at 68K... just a few figures for you. :)
I have heard that starting for nurses in NY is 50-70K
