Hii there! Anyone starting the residency at CNMC in 2016?I got accepted at the 4 main unit to start in February... so exciting!!
I would love to hear from experienced nurses that work(ed) there :)
Hi also go accepted to work on 4 main starting in February! I'm actually trying to decide to take their offer or another offer to work on adult med-surg floor! I've been looking and looking for insight on CNMC but haven't found anything recent!
Hi! I'm starting in the CICU at CNMC! I can't say much about the institution as a whole, but the atmosphere in the CICU at CNMC was extremely supportive and welcoming when I was shadowing. I did my practicum at Johns Hopkins in the adult cardiac ICU, and while it was an amazing experience, I can't say I felt the same way re: teamwork and communication. CNMC was "it" for me.
Hey Erin,
If you accept the job offer, please keep in touch. I currently work in the NICU at a hospital in MD, and I'm considering joining the NICU team at CNMC in about a year or so. Would love to hear of your experience as you become acclimated to the unit. BY THE WAY, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WORKING IN THE NICU!!! Congrats!!
Hi all ! I start in feb in the PICU! I currently work at Washington Hospital Center but im SUPER excited to come over to childrens. @bnicole7 where is the adult job you are considering taking (or possibly already took)? Working in Adult ICU/IMC now I would not recommend it just because my back ALREADY hurts from these heavy patients. Also, if the offer is at Washington Hospital Center DONT TAKE IT. This hospital is the absolute pits and I am even breaking my contract to leave. Cant wait for peds and to meet you all!

Hi!!
Congrats on your offer in the picu! I will be finished with school in March and looking to apply for the picu positions that are currently open. I saw on the website that the residency starts in feb and another one in the fall. However, it says another critical care option starts in July. Do you know if I can apply for that position or will I need to wait until the next residency starts in the fall!? An information about the unit, residency would be awesome!
Thank you,
Mia
Hi guys! I just recently interviewed for the CICU at Children's National... They seemed very interested in me and I thought the interview went well. They said they pick 6-10 new grads and said they would let me know by "spring break." It is my absolute DREAM JOB. Has anyone else interviewed for the CICU or have anymore information?

Hi!!!
I just recently applied for the picu there! I know on their website that they said the residency is offered twice a year, in February and I think September. But then they have a critical care cohort to start in July. So I figured I'd apply. Do you know How that works as far as the residency goes? Would you start in July and just not begin the actual residency part until it starts back up. Or will July new grads have their own cohort. Good luck with everything!
