Do you guys know of any positions that combine nursing and news reporter/anchor ?
My friend she majored in political science and I believe she became a reporter.
Im almost done with my BSN and I'm debating if I should go the poly sci route while I'm getting experience and then get my masters and do the DNP-FNP thing.
I really want to make a difference in healthcare.

There's an RN journalist on Channel 6 Philadelphia. She covers healthcare issues on air. She has a BSN and a Master's in Journalism, I think.

There are even graduate programs for people who want to focus on scientific or medical journalism.

I think the best way to become politically active is to ..... become politically active. Nurses are highly respected. People listen to us. Do your homework, become engaged & Go for it.
If you're looking for a supportive and knowledgeable (non nursing) organization that could assist, check out AAUW. The one in my area is loaded with dynamite leaders and mentors.
