hey,

I have finished general nursing and midwifery in India. It's a 3 year diploma in nursing which includes a 6 month internship. After completing this course you are a certifies nurse in any state of India but however not in any Canadian province. So, i heard about NCLEX examination which i can give sitting here in India. If i want to move to Montreal, Quebec with just my diploma and that 6 month internship included, with no experience, can i give my nclex and apply to various hospitals for a job. I didn't study math, physics, chemistry, biology in my high school. but i am still eligible for doing general nursing and midwifery in India. the diploma i have and a bachelor in science(nursing) is considered the same and both get an RN (Indian) after completing their course. so this is the situation,

if i can give my nclex, which exam can i give it for RN OR LPN.

or do i have to complete a course for giving my nclex.

or there is any other way to become a RN in any Canadian province.

what are the requirements and criteria i need to meet to give my nclex exam.

please share details for all of Canada not just Quebec.

what status is my diploma considered in Canada.

if anyone went on the same path as me, please share your details on how you did so.

thank you very much patience

please help me i am confused.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Quebec generally do things differently to the other provinces. At some stage you will need to show skill in speaking French. Other provinces require involvement with NNAS before submitting application to provincial college
