Hi everyone.. I have a problem.. Hope you can help me with this.. I started applying for ETEA last month, got interviewed via phone last week and now, I already have my letter of offer from them. I was given 7 days to pay for the tuition.. By the way, I am for January 2013 intake..The problem is, my letter of eligibility from AHPRA is due to expire on the 26th of October.. Is it possible to ask for an extension from AHPRA? It is stated in the letter that I need to complete an NMBA approved program within the period given to me.. And now, my offer from ETEA is for January 2013.. What should I do? Please help.. Will greatly appreciate.. Thanks RNs!
Have you honoured the requirements in your letter stating what you need to do, to be eligible for registration? If not, then the answer would be no.
They have also got you on record as applying for an extension and not receiving it and their recommendation to re-apply, in all probabilities you will not receive registration after completing a bridging program as you cannot claim ignorance.
On the other hand if you are a gambling person and the way different offices and employees of AHPRA tend to differ in opinion and assessment, you may just squeeze your way in. Thats of course if you are willing to risk your money.
I'm amazed that a course would take you on when your letter is not valid at time of commencement and end as that is one of the requirements that students MUST have.

Thank you..can you give me an advice? I don't know what to do..If I will re-apply, it will take too long again before I receive the assessment from AHPRA. I don't think I can still start on September this year if I re-apply.. I really want to do the bridging program in Australia..
I am not sure if AHPRA VIC grants request for extension. You need to inquire/request to them as soon as possible. Also, attach a copy of your letter of offer from the organization where you will have our bridging program as supporting document why you need the extension.
belle_v2g--did you changr your nick from Annie? Anyways, just want to ask would you recommend me to buy a printer?? I understand that we will have heaps of paperworks to submit and once we go on our placements,we'll have to send everything by post. It'd be much easier for me to being a printer. What do you reckon?

Hello. Yes, i changed my username from Annie_v2g to Belle_v2g. Glad that you still recognize me. Yes, probably you can share with your friends/classmates and buy a printer/copier/scanner in one. They have it at officeworks for $65 only.
