I had a very interesting conversation with a nurse recruiter at a family get together last night. The recuriter is not a nurse. It is common knowledge that nurse recruters in the area of S. California are not nurses. When I asked him why nurses are not recruiting nurses he said, "nurses are to stupid to do my job". His wife is a nurse, and she was sitting right there. The couple did not know I was a nurse, and they still don't. Very interesting!

Is it any wonder I have no faith in recruiters? My current hospital's recruiter tried very hard to get me to go into adult ICU when I had no interest in it. She even said they didn't have any jobs in my specialty. Well, I'm not so stupid I can't read their job postings on their website. Funny enough, suddenly jobs became available in my specialty when I said that I'd just have to apply at another hospital.... This is in So Cal too.

Oh, my.
And he thinks NURSES are stupid? If that gets around, no one will sign up with him or his company if that is the prevailing attitude. And then -- surprise! -- no job for Mr. Intelligent.

You better believe I'm going to hammer this guy. I've called three units in the hospital where this guy works, and I'm writhing a letter to the DNS.
His goose is cooked.
