I was wondering if there was such a position. A nurse practitioner who assist neuro surgeons?

We have one. (to clarify...I am not her. ) But I work at a major pediatric facility, and our neurosurgeon has a NP. She does a lot of the day to day checking in on patients, taps, etc. I don't know if she has a role in the OR or not.

Several of our surgeons have NPs. Some assist in the OR and see patients post-op, some have never seen the inside of the OR.

We have one at our facility. She was a RN in the SICU for many years before hand...A role model for a NP applicant like me :)
