Question for psych NPs

Specialties NP

Published

Specializes in ER and family advanced nursing practice.

Do any of you guys know if having a masters degree in nursing/psych NP will get you into a PhD program for clinical psychology?

How much training do you receive in clinical psychology?

Thanks for your time.

Probably not in itself. You'd need more psychology courses than you get in psych np program. There was a post earlier from someone who is both a psych np and clinical psychologist. Can't remember the name at the moment though but they should be able to provide you with more info.

Specializes in Psychiatry (PMHNP), Family (FNP).

I agree, I think you need a masters in psychology for that route. Its a totally different discipline.
