Moved to the Canadian Student discussion forum

Where are you applying? The requirements at each school are slightly different.

Im applying to UBC

Ive seen the requirements

Im mostly interested to find out about the process and chances of being accepted

Do you know anything about it?

Are you an NP in BC?

thanks

I am currently in the ubc np program. I personally worked on my application for a year prior to applying. I planned to apply before even starting nursing school. I don't think there is one aspect of the application that is weighed more. Strong references, and a great supplemental essay in my opinion I think are important. There is a wide variety of students in the program, with varied work experiences. Some applied more than once and got in on their second attempt.

I do not know the exact odds of getting in, they do not release how many people apply, I was just told "a lot of people apply".

In terms of the application process, you do your online application and then if selected you do an interview.

I personally had 2 years of full time emergency experience, BSc (Kin), BSN and BCIT Emergency certificate. GPA 3.7 from top 30 credits from my BSN.

Hope that helps!

Thank you

Yes it helped a lot

I did work on my application for some time and have finally submitted it today

Best of luck in your program

Regards,

Hi,

I applied to the UBC MN-NP program and got an interview call. Can I have some insight into the interview process?

Hiii

yay

you got an interview

can you tell me how long after u applied u were replied to? And perhaps if your GPA was super competitive?

hopefully there are others who can help with the inteview

I got a call on Friday and I applied a few days before the deadline. My GPA is 3.89. Also, I think the person mentioned they just started calling for interviews. I was at work, so didn't talk much about the interview schedule. We planned to discuss that on Monday.

All the best to you.

Thanks

best of luck to you

Hi there,

I want to connect with you regarding the program structure and interview process.

Thanks

hey! congrats on interview. My advice would be to know what an NP is, scope of practice, etc. Read up on BC NP policy. Other questions were like regular interview questions as far as I remember, i.e. give an example of a leadership, conflict resolution etc.
