World Canada CA Programs

Hi

Im wondering if there are any Mn-NP applicants to UBC?

Im planning to apply and need some info regarding the process

thanks

Hey,

I also got a call on Friday for the interview. Just as an FYI they do show statistics on previous years as far as applications and offers on this site under statistical data https://www.grad.ubc.ca/prospective-students/graduate-degree-programs/master-of-nursing-nurse-practitioner

Good luck!

Hi

Thanks for your reply

I also applied and have not been called

I have a BA from UBC and a BSN from BCIT with an overall average of 82% in the 3 and 4th years courses while working fulltime as an ESN during the last 2 years of nursing

SO, Im assuming that my average was below the pool of applicants

good luck on the interview

Keep us posted

Anyone receive a call yet?

Yes I got an email back March 13 saying I got in!

CONGRATS!

If you don't mind me asking what your past experience was to get a better understanding how competitive the program is. Thanks!

Hi, yes of course. My experience is not the typical, I worked at BCCH eating disorders for about 3years then recently got into Public Health. I also have my certification in reproductive health. From my understanding I don't think they are looking for specific experience (except for a minimum of 2-3years working as a nurse) but more so that you can show why you would be a good fit/critical thinking ect...

I hope that's helpful! Have you applied yet?

Hello,

I was just wondering about the 2 years minimum nursing requirement. Does all 2 years of experience have to be completed when you apply? Or can you apply with less than 2 years of experience as long as you can prove you will have 2 years of experience by the time the program starts in the fall?
