If you want to go to school as a neonatal NP, you have to work in a level 3 NICU for 2 years. Check out the NICU forum under specialty-->critical care-->NICU
This requirement has been made of every university I've come across from, largely because you must have that experience in order to take the NNP boards by the NCC.
Many programs require no experience for NP school besides becoming a nurse anesthetist, PNP, and NNP, there are no real requirements unless set specifically by the school. It's better for you to look into colleges that you are interested in and look at their requirements. Good luck!
Thank you, I got scared when I saw this post because the school I looked at did not show any requirements for working in a hospital prior to applying. The only requirement they had listed was a BSN and License. I will double check though, just in case I have gotten lax in my research.

HELLO I have a quick question ! I'm wondering as a new graduate if I choose a job in a clinic such as womans clinic will it count towards the clinical experience I need to go to grad school for NP or does it have to be in a hospital
