Nurse Extern Interview at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago

I have a 1:1 interview with Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago for a summer extern program. I went through the HR phone interview, but am now flying to Chicago to interview with the unit manager. I don't know how this is going to go, and have read varying things on interview questions etc. Has anyone ever interviewed with them before? What was it like, and what did they ask? Also, has anyone ever done this program before and if so did they like it? THANKS!

Has anybody done the HireVue virtual interview? I'm scared a question is going to pop up, and I'm going to have no idea on how to answer it, and they are going to be staring at my blank expression LOL.

Yea it was decent, I can’t complain only 4 questions one of them is if you can commit to working full time for 8 weeks.

How was it for you? I did mine recently. Omg. I felt that I got off-guard by the time I started and I had a bit of nervous talking in the first question, but the other questions were pretty good. Im so nervous, I just want them to get back to me already. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get back to you?

Hey ya'll, I also did the HireVue interview last week. I haven't heard anything from them yet. Has anyone heard back? I have no clue how long it takes.

I have no idea how long it takes to hear back, and I hope I hear back soon because I applied to other internships and I don't know if they are going to want me to accept their offers right away.

Has anyone heard back regarding the internship? I have other internships waiting for my answer but I was really hoping for this one! The video interview definitely was a little disconcerting but I didn't feel I did too badly overall.

I haven’t! I emailed them last week and just said that I was still very interested and thanked them for letting me do the video interview. They responded and said all in person interviews would be scheduled by the end of February. I still haven’t heard back tho regarding a decision.

That's great! The only struggle for me is that I have to accept or decline a different internship by friday!! ;( It's at a much smaller hospital but in the ED, which I really wanted to intern in. So now I'm torn!

That’s tough! ED is what I wanna do too so I’m really hoping I get this one because they have ED positions! I’ll let you know if I hear anything!

WOW! same! I was hoping for the ED position there too! Have you applied to other internships?

I emailed them too! Hopefully we get some results soon! My instructor said that big hospital systems like this one are typically much slower at anything admin and can be hard to communicate with ?
