Hi everyone,
I am interested in applying to the nurse corps scholarship 2017 2018 in order to pay for my accelerated program of sixteen months. I have a bachelors in sociology. I have done quiet a few researches. The application cycle will be open this month but I don't know which exact date. I have read discussion threads of previous years and have found really helpful information. I want to create a platform where interested applicants can ask questions, share information, discuss and help each other.
Thanks
Well, my understanding is that a credit check does not ensure an offer but if there was no credit check then that indicates the individual is NOT a finalist. I'm not an expert. I'm just waiting with baited breath like everyone else. Have any of the Loan Repayment Applicants gotten award emails yet??? I thought they'd have gone out yesterday. *sigh*

There were people that got offers last year but reported no credit check. There are no black and white answers. A credit check is a good sign but it's not a signed contract or a denial letter.

I looked and it looks like only nurse faculty have received awards for the loan repayments. I think it's all just a little behind this year

Well, I'm just going off what HRSA says (they say it will, for sure, happen as part of the application process). I guess I assumed that not everyone checked all 3 of their credit bureaus when saying there was no credit check. It's hard for me to imagine they'd miss something so key to the application process BUT it IS the govt - so who knows. I really, really wish they'd send out those emails!

I'm just saying people reported not having one that they saw on their report. Whether it was done or not is a mystery. I agree that it seems odd that HRSA wouldn't do one. My point is that it's not over until it's over. So I just don't want people who aren't seeing a check to get disheartened. Because everyone is still in the game.
I remember in my cycle trying to figure everything out because I think I thought maybe it would help the stress. This is a really hard process. I think its normal to look for any answer we can find. I hope you guys start hearing soon!
I have been checking my email and refreshing it religiously. I just want to know already whether good or bad...hopefully good though lol! I have this weird nightmare-paranoia that maybe emails went out already and none of us received them so obviously didn't post on here because none of us are finalists. What a scary thought! Hopefully tomorrow is the day! :) I looked over last year's NCSP thread and finalists received emails between 5 and 6pm. Apparently NHSC received theirs in the morning so we can hear word at any minute it seems.
I'm starting to believe this, what if none of us are finalists
