Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone else has started the application process for the Nurse Corps Scholarship program for the 2014-2015 school year. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking? Mine are EFC 0, from Tx, and GPA of 3.4. I wonder how many applicants will there be for this coming academic year. Feel free to ask any questions as well, we can help each other out.
I "liked" the FB page for Nurse Corps and someone asked when recipients will be notified this year....whoever runs the page responded saying, "All applicants will be notified via e-mail no later than Sept. 30, 2014. Unfortunately we cannot determine the exact day you'll recieve your e-mail". I guess we will get e-mails whether we are accepted or not.
I applied in May with a 4.0GPA and EFC0 for a BSN program at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Chicago. I'm checking my application status and reading these threads every day, hoping for some good news! Good luck everyone! Keep posting any news...
I'm assuming that they will send a wave of acceptance emails and then if only a handful of recipients accept the scholarship, they might send a second wave of acceptance emails....and so on, until they've filled all of the available scholarships. The deadline for them to do that is probably Sept. 30. I'm sure we will be hearing something within the next couple weeks though.
What they mean is that everyone will hear no matter what by September 30. During the webinar we were told if we were accepted we would be notified by august 30, unless of course it runs a little late. They also said that September 30 was the date they would basically send out rejection letters.
Hi! I have been in the program for 6 months and I will be entering Fundamentals I (NR224) and Health Assessment I (NR302) in September. I'll be starting my first round of Clinicals in November. Where are you at in the program?
I like the school a lot. It's small but has everything we need and the teachers/staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The student government association also plans a lot of career fairs, student appreciation events, and opportunities for volunteering.
O wow that's awesome, Right now I am taking Nutrition, Health and wellness ( NR228) online and once my paperwork gets finalized I can meet with an advisor for the September session. I am really praying for this scholarship so I can just stay at Chamberlain and not have to stop completely. Do you live in the city? I live in Gurnee Il and was thinking of moving closer to city to save some time on my crazy commute.

Does anyone know what they're usually looking for. My GPA went down this semester to a 2.69 my ECF is 1,300. Does anyone know if I have a chance? I feel like my essays were strong enough.
