Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

I am Nursing faculty with a D/I ratio of 181% at a university with over 50% student who receive pell grants. I received my finalist email yesterday with the instructions to sign my contract, submit my banking information etc. Just wanted everyone to know they are sending notification. This is my first year applying so I do not know what to expect next. It says Your overall application status is: Accepted Award - Under Final Review.

Hope his helps and hope they start sending many more notifications for everyone soon!

I am applicant for the the Nurse Corps Loan repayment program not faculty loan program.

Congratulations! And send some of your good fortune my way please!

Well you guys I just got the email! I'm a finalist! I just accepted the award and gave them my bank information. It looks like they are really starting to notify people. Good luck to everyone!

Wow that's great! Congratulations!

Congratulations to all! hclan, I'm so glad you got it with the HPSA and DTI, you deserve it.

Have any RNS heard? Not NPs or faculty.

Me to. Hopefully more notifications will roll out next week! Praying.

I received a notice on 7/20- stated I had until 7/25 to accept the award and had to provide bank account and routing information. Stated awards were pending final approval and availability of funds. Also stated that awards would be disbursed by 9-30. I am nursing faculty at a community college.

Specializes in Utilization Review.

Any non faculty, non NP RN's that have heard yet? It does seem NP's and faculty awards went first but I am pretty sure my D/I and HPSA is not high enough I'm only 150% HPSA 17, i have been contemplating for years to finish my FNP certificate which would give me sadly more loans but make me eligible for both grants!! Everything happens for a reason.

Still waiting. RN, BSN. HPSA 15 debt to income 300%
