nurse auxiliary job

Published

Hello!

I have applied for a nurse auxiliary job and i wear lighg fake lashes everyday because i used to be a beauty student and due to practicing semi permanent lashes every week my nstural lashes are small and short and minimally there. I was just wondering if you are allowed to wear false eyelashes? The only other make up i wear os foundstion(double wear estee lauder), eyebrow pencil(again tiny eyebrows) and thin eyeliner.

Would also like some advice on how good my statement was?

I basicslly just said how i worked in a kitchen of a care home before but it included a lot of interscting with residenrs and helping them, doing what i could to see them smile etc. I also stated how id like tovpursue a degree in paediatric nursing and feel likw this would be great experinece. I love seeing a differenxe in people im helping and love the feeling when people can remember you for doing something spectacular to hekp them.

Thats of course not my statement its just ut summarised but any comments will be appreciated!!!

Also i just gor a new phone and cant type proper on it yet haha excuse spelling mistakes:)

Thanks for any help! Nicole x

What is a nurse auxiliary?

Specializes in Nurse Leader specializing in Labor & Delivery.

I, too, do not know what a nurse auxiliary job is.

Makeup restrictions are totally facility-dependent. You would need to look at that facility's dress code policy.

love the feeling when people can remember you for doing something spectacular to hekp them.

I would remove that from your statement. Nursing should not be about how your patients make YOU feel.

Thanks for youre comment ill remove hat part, i didnt want to submkt anyway until i found somewhere to check!

A nurse auxiliary is just like a healthcare assistant, they just hekp nurses in their work and look after patients who need help dressing and things, id really like the job as id definetely like to be a nurse in future and it is a good start point!

The most common term for that type of job in the US is "Nurse Assistant". You can't use the term "CNA" unless you are certified.

The make-up thing is a bit odd. I realize that personal appearance is important, but the expectation in healthcare settings puts a higher priority on an appearance of cleanliness and hygiene .... e.g., "freshly scrubbed" face. The use of fragrances is generally prohibited or severely limited because of its effect - can trigger nausea or respiratory symptoms in vulnerable populations.

Wearing false lashes will be perceived as odd. Hiring managers may see this as a negative and be less likely to offer you a job.

Where are you? Nurse auxiliary to me is the UK. Each hospital will have their own policy
