Do you think they would ever offer a program like this is Las Vegas?? I am hoping to be a nursing anesthetist on day. THanks for your input.

I highly doubt there will be any type of nurse anesthetist program in Las Vegas anytime soon. The only school that would really implement a program like that in Las Vegas would be UNLV or perhaps Touro.
UNLV School of Nursing finally created a Ph.D. program a few years back -- they are definitely behind times. And I don't necessarily think there is a large demand in Las Vegas for CRNA's.
Can anyone else that lives in Las Vegas help me out with this???? Or is it possible to complete a CRNA Program with Distance Learning and doing your clinicals in another state?????

I think your best bet to learn about CRNA is to go to http://www.aana.com and visit the section about accredited CRNA programs. There are none in NV.

Perhaps you should start a thread with this question on the CRNA or student CRNA forum.
You might get more CRNA-specific answers to your questions.

I'm going to be starting a nurse anesthetist program that starts in May. From what I understand its the medical commuity that is limiting the use of nurse anesthetists. Here in Vegas they are utilized in relatively low risk procedures like EGD, colonoscopies, etc. So until someone can come in an change that, Las Vegas will never have the need to prepare their own anesthetists.
The program is intense, so I haven't seen any distance learning classes. There are some programs that have clincal sites throughout the region. Someone stated that they had to choose clincal sites from a Texas school either in Texan, Florida or California...don't hold me to those exact states. I have a relative who's program in Penn. let him research out a clinical site in his home state to complete the program. That's what I have learned so far.
