Getting an early start on the support group thread for the August 4465 class.
I heard it's second only to Research in terms of horror level...though having just survived Research, I'm optimistic about this one--it can only be better than Research was.
Awful, I know, but I had no time. Come to find out they only dock you 5pts for a late assignment (which I didn't look up until after I had already submitted it) so now I'm kind of wishing I didn't submit it, got the 5pt hit and then worked on my APA formatting all day tomorrow. That being said, the idea of getting a 45 or 50 on this assignment and being DONE with it seems more appealing to me then spending my entire day tomorrow working on it more, so it's a toss up.
To be honest, this is one of those assignments that we could have kept working on forever trying to make it just right. After a certain point, we just have to let it go and focus on the next thing.
Already got my assignment grade back...it went much better than I thought.I got the same grade on the quiz this week as I did last week...at least I'm consistent. It's those darn SATAs that are killing me.
Taking the rest of the night off before the joys of week 3 begin.
SATAs are awful! This weeks quiz had entirely too many of them! I wish they offered partial credit for them like they do in care of the older adult.
Week 2 Assign: It was terrible, awful, and ugly. Turned mine in at the 11th hour, too! But like my husband said as he heard me groan for the 40th time on Saturday: "It's a 4 hour class. Isn't it supposed to be hard?" He still has the welp on his forehead. :) Advice: Give yourself at least 2 days to complete it. The quiz was alright, though. We can do this!
I actually got a good grade. I was most surprised that there was no negative comments about my lack of data. I really thought I would get a lot of points off for not being thorough in my research. This weeks assignment seems much easier, although I have not started it, just a lot of BS writing about goals and interventions for the community.
I think that they realized that it may be difficult for us to find all of the information. They were probably looking to see if we collected the correct type of data and that we used APA correctly. I was really worried about what my grade would be on the Week 2 assignment, I got a 99. My only deduction was because I didn't have 3 sentences in one of my paragraphs. They don't seem to be grading as hard as they did in Holistic Health Assessment and Research. I think I was just a little shell shocked from my last classes, this one seems much more realistic in their expectations. Or maybe I have a great coach, who knows.

Week 3 doesn't look bad. Though a heads-up to everyone: week 4 has a federal holiday (Labor Day) in it. Considering that we have to visit an agency and interview people there, keep that schedule in mind.

Excellent suggestion!
As for the grade for week 2...I wish I took the 5pt hit and sent my assignment in late. In my quest to meet the deadline I totally nixed any APA formatting whatsoever aside from listing the URL's I used. Yikes!
Wow this is a much easier week. I have been working all day on this class and holistic health, and I am almost done with everything for this week. I had planned on having to spend tomorrow working on school work too, but I think I can either start next weeks assignments or take a break. I think I'll take a break. Though it would be nice to finish these classes early!
Um, so I got a 97 on my week 2 assignment?! Maybe hell froze over too because I literally can't believe it - granted, I did have 31 pages of material so obviously work was put into it BUT, my nursing dx for my community were weak and barely supported with statistics, if at all, and I purposely didn't APA format as I ran out of time to do so...I merely stuck URL's under the graphs and then listed the URL's in non-alphabetical order under a makeshift reference section and it got my 3 points off. For a 3 point deduction over several hours saved struggling with APA format I say I win!
This leads me to believe one of two things: 1) the more you write, the more they skim and the less harshly they grade or 2) I overestimate fellow students - half the work the AC's see must be crap!
Hi everyone,
I had the day off today so I stayed up late last night and went through the entire FEMA presentation (week 5) for hospitals - nearly 3 hours! Went to take the exam directly from the presentation and I get a message saying "Internet explorer cannot display the web page." Ugh. It tells you when you start not to click off the presentation or you won't get credit, so I left my computer on all night and tried again this AM to no avail. Tried multi times and in different ways. Sent FEMA and coach messages. Haven't heard back yet. Hopefully will be resolved soon. Hope I don't have to sit through presentation again .
