Anyone starting Nurs 3425 (Holistic Health Assessment) at UTA RN-BSN on Sept 24th?
Hi amy. I don't know where the examples are in the book. i'm just following the lab manual and hope I doing it right.
There were 2 examples in the resource sections in our blackboard (click on course materials) then go to documents. It is sample subjective and objective assignment. Helps somewhat.
What I did is use the lab manual to determine what is to be covered in the assignment, then I opened the textbook to determine what to do and how. You'll find examples in the book towards the end of each topic/chapter...the assessment in the book doesn't always sync up with how it's conducted in the lab manual though. On the brighter side, a lot of the history assessment skills will begin to become second nature to you since they stay fairly constant. And yes, you will seem like you're covering the same things over and over with each assignment...because sometimes you are. But at the end of the class, you have to consolidate all that info into one H&P.
Meriwhen,
It does not seem to hard, just following the rubrics to make sure I include what is needed. I think getting it started is the most difficult part, then it seems to flow from there! They seem to have some stuff out of order is all.
I've done A & B, Leadership, Tech Writ, Art Appreciation. I had already done Anatomy 1 & 2, Micro, sociology, psych 1 and 2, statistics, english 1 & 2.
I'm presently doing history 1311 and assessment. I'm registered for holistic are after this class and british literature.
I'm hoping to do my CCRN before december. I will be excused from 1 nursing elective if I pass. I have all the other nursing classes to complete.
I also came on here and realized nurses who had already done the program listed easiest and time consuming courses which I have left for last. eg research, care of vulnerable patients, and literature as time consuming. I still haven;t done algebra. I have not heard anything good about it so far. :), so I'll leave that for last.
Hello! I'm also taking 3425 and I am done with one assignment and still have the other one to do and the quiz!! It seems like a lot of work and I'm still a little nervous about the whole class...seems like you guys are feeling the same way. Hope we can all work together and good luck to you all!

jadiva,
WOW, history and this assessment class is a lot of work. I am also registered for holistic after this class. I used my certification and already took the BIO 3309 (med terminology) for my elective. Done A&B, health promotion, govt, & tech writing. Will take stats in January (and the literature), pm me if you need help in anything I have taken.
