NURS 4585 - Capstone (starting 9/23/13)

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Starting the support group thread for Capstone. Yes, there's still more than a week before it starts, but can't you tell I want this program to finally be over with?

After surviving Research and Vulnerable Populations, I can't imagine this class is all that bad. Then again, it is 5 credit hours...

Ick :( Did they give you any feedback at all?

The one thing I could suggest is to be sure to obviously answer every question contained in both the week's prompt and rubric. By "obviously" I mean you should restate the question in your answer. Example: for the question, "What did you struggle with in school?", when you answer it start your paragraph off with something like, "One thing that I struggled with in school was..."

I did that and I scored very well.

Let me know if I can explain it better.

I did that too, but I guess that I just didn't have enough information?? Anyways, just have to come up with some more bsstuff!

I wrote 11 pages. Granted, it was in APA double-space TNR 12 point, because I'm afraid to turn in any assignment without using that.

I'm already starting on the week 3 assignments. With the way the assignment deadlines are set up in this course, it practically forces me to work ahead just to meet them.

I will be doing that myself. I am a little confuse on the evaluation tool that is due in week 4. Any ideas?

Did any of you look ahead to week 4? This is a heavy week. I think I will start my powerpoint presentation this week and work ahead.

I think we all have to work ahead. Week 4 assignment is basically due on Tuesday. I am going to start on week 4 assignment tomorrow. So far the only thing I don't like about this class is it feels rushed.

I don't like the rushed feeling either, but at this point I no longer care what they do to me--it will all be over in 3 weeks.

This powerpoint presentation is taking me forever to finish. I think it is all the references I have for my articles and visuals that is taking my so long, and trying to make it look nice.

What are ya'll doing your presentations on? I had to make a powerpoint for coopertative nursing, but before that class, I had never made one.

I have only done one PowerPoint presentation before and it was in this program. I can't remember which class. I think that is why it is taking me so long. I just don't know how to make it look nice or how to use the program very well. So far I think mine looks ok. Where are ya'll putting your citations? I have references for all my sources listed in the reference list, citations with all images, and citations where I used quoted material. Other than the quotes and images I don't have citations on my power point slides. Should I put them in the speaker notes for grading purposes? I was told by someone at work that you don't usually put citation anywhere on a PowerPoint you just have a reference list. I did not see instruction for this. It only says in the instruction to be sure to reference your images.

So I got my:

Greetings,

YOU’RE “GOOD TO GO FOR GRADUATION.

email.....I'm excited. Will be there. Who else will be there?

I got the e-mail but alas, I won't be there in person. I'd love to be, but it'd cause too much tension with the extended family especially after we told them that we're not going back east for the holidays. Oh well.
