NU SD Cohort 41

Published

I have searched for a thread about NU SD's cohort 41 that is supposed to be starting January 2015. I am going to be applying next week after I attend the pre-nursing forum on Tuesday, the 15th. My goal is to get into the ABSN program as I already have a bachelors degree. I understand thought that the number of spots in the cohort is for both the general BSN and the ABSN groups. I am curious to see what other peoples stats are that are going to be, or already have applied for this cohort. I am so nervous because I knpow a lot of people apply and there are only about 50 spots available. I havn't taken the TEAS yet or the essay exam part. I have a 3.5 GPA, so I'm hoping I can kick butt on the TEAS and essay!

What did they say?

He wasn't even aware that we had been waiting this long, in fact he said that this wait time was normal. He suggested I email the nursing department which I told him I had and then he said email the department of health and human services which apparently is the department above them to lodge a complaint. I will if we don't find out by the end of the week. It would be one thing if they said we would know in two to three months, but to tell us we would know sooner and to have us be waiting like this is really not okay in my mind.

I called today and I am not sure if it's true or not. But she said that it's going to take longer, like end of November or maybe December. Whahhhh

OMG. Why on Earth would it take that long?!! That cant be right... I hope for everybody that it isn't right. That would be so messed up!

Have you spoke with any of the staff again? I can't get a hold of my advisor.

I haven't spoken with anyone. I tried emailing JJ, but he never wrote back. As far as what people on here are posting, it kinda sounds like it could be anytime between now and December. I mean, I would think it needs to be soon - if we are accepted there are a lot of things we need to be able to get done before school starts in Jan. This is so crazy and frustrating.

I'm already beyond this. I'm moving on and I'll have other plans to do instead of waiting my time and my sanity.

We have to know before December because we have to attend a mandatory orientation and pay our entrance fees before we can start. Anyone that can't make the orientation would get dropped and their seat would get filled by someone else. They have to have enough time to fill those seats back up. Also I think that it is going to be like this at all institutions while they are trying to meet the deadlines to change their curriculums from the state board. The anticipation of finding out the results is killing me but I would much rather have to wait then to get thru the program to find out that it didn't meet state standards.

However with all that said a simple email telling us what is going on would be nice and easy for them.

Where else are you looking at?

Pinklove111, I totally understand where you are coming from. I just want to start actual nursing classes somewhere. The impaction in this state is really frustrating.
