NSU EntryBSN Program Fall 2010

Published

Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

thanks!! best of luck!!:p

Hey everyone I just called Nova to check on my app and the lady told me that I need to be more patient. Even though I have been waiting since Feb. She assured me that everyone will know by the end of the month. So 2 more weeks :)

Kristou: You are headed the right direction, your GPA is great and you shouldn't have a problem with applying for the Fall 2010. Word of advise: Apply as early as you possible can, and stay on top of all the required paperwork, and making sure your file is complete. Go for it, do not miss an opportunity to apply and get in as soon as you can. The school allows you to submit your grades once your done. best of luck! :p

On another note, does any one know exactly how many students are accepted to the Baptist Scholars Program?

40 students are accepted to baptist and 100 in total for the nursing program.

Hello everyone!

I had my Baptist Scholarship interview yesterday. As it ended, they assured me that I would receive a letter in the mail within the next 20 days because they are still currently doing interviews. I know that they are aware of NOVA being behind in their admissions process so be patient, I'm sure you will all be fine! :-)

Goodluck! :nurse:

If you don't mind, what were some of the questions that they asked? Thanks

Pinknurse: I had my interview yesterday as well, I'm even more nervous now.

Hopefully it'll all work out! They told me the same thing, we should know in about 2-3 weeks! The waiting never really ends.

Good luck!

Marcy,

You are completely right, the waiting game never ends but we are proof that it is totally worth it to wait because in the end, it is good news! I'm sure it will be the same in this instance. :-)

NurseKitty2013,

Don't be afraid of the questions they will ask, just be ready to answer anything they throw at you. The panel consisted of 5 women (not all of them were Baptist employees, one of them was actually a representative from Barry) They each have their own packet of questions with about 5 pages in total. On each sheet, there are several questions that they can choose from, whichever they choose, they place a check next to it and as you are answering the question, they write down notes at the bottom portion of the paper. (P.s- 90% of the questions are work-related. This is because, if you were to receive the scholarship, you have a 2-3 year working contract with Baptist therefore, they want an idea of how you would handle situations in the workplace.)

Some questions were among the lines of:

- Explain a situation in which you had to go above and beyond in order to complete a project.

- If you and a fellow employee could not agree or see eye to eye, what would you do inorder to resolve this?

- Which is better, creativity or efficiency?

- Which characteristics do you believe a nurse should possess?

- What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?

They asked a few more but I cannot think of them right now! They were all among those lines so you should prepare to answer work-related questions.

Marcy,

If you can possibly reply with questions that you remember they asked you, that wouldd be great in order to help some others who are going through this process. :-)

GOODLUCK TO ALL!

I agree with you PinkNurse, do not be afraid of the questions. You are going in there in front of this panel to speak about yourself, and project and base questions on work ethic, personality and past experience. Really, just be yourself.

However, I did have completely different questions. They do not ask the same thing to every one.

good luck!

Thanks Marcy and PinkNurse14. I'm so nervous and I haven't even applied yet. I'm just trying to prepare myself.

Hello Everyone

Although Im new this website I have been reading some of your posts and I was really happy to see that I have something in common with all of you and that is the waiting process to get into Nova's nursing program. I am so anxious about whats going on and some of your words are encouraging. Hopefully we all get to the place that we're supposed to be.

This morning I received my acceptance email!!

I am officially going to be a shark!

ZDream Congrats! What was your gpa and when did you apply if you don't mind me asking? I'm just trying to get an idea of what type of candidates NSU is accepting and where in the decision process they are..I'm still in the waiting boat....and I applied at the end of February
