Has anyone applied for the Nova BSN program starting Jan 2010? If so, have you received any letters regarding the status of your application and when did you apply? What was your cummulative g.p.a and are you currently taking any pre-reqs? I applied mid August and still haven't received anything by mail. :(

You are about to embark on one of the most challenging journeys in your life. I have to remind you that while you competed to get into Nursing school and competed to get into the scholars program, you have now made it. Its imperative that your attitudes change from being the best in your class to being a team player. One of the things that they foster right from the start is team work with people that you dont know or dont necessarily like. Why am I telling you this?? You have two choices: make friends and work together or be a loaner. I was used to being the later of the two. Last semester I saw the importance of sharing knowledge with each other and working together. It will make your lives easier and will reduce the amount of work you have for yourself. When you take your 3160 class, you will find that if you work together and share your contributions you will pass easily. Help your peers in their weaknesses and let them help you in your weaknesses. This srategy works, I promise. For example, I dislike public speaking so whenever we had presentations, I would try and work with my peers that were better at public speaking. I am not bad at essay writing so when we had papers to write, I would help my classmates that werent so good. Study together, share your resources with each other. My suggestion is leave those competitive I need to get into nursing school attitudes at home and learn to work with each other. If you are Baptist, there are only a few of you and you will become very close. Use that to your advantage, you will be with these people for the next two years so make the best of it. Also for you non Ft. Lauderdale people remember this: what happens in the Kendall/ Ft. Meyers campus in regards to grading or what teachers do stays there. If you are getting a perk that your Ft. Lauderdale peers arent getting and you say something, word spreads like wildfire and guess what, you will loose it, I promise. FYI speaking from experience there is no such thing as anonymous complaint brought up to your superiors. Its not fun having 55 people giving you a death stare in class because they know you screwed it up for them. While they try to make everything the same, every now and then a campus might get a little perk that the other didn't get and if word gets around, EVERYONE LOOSES. Also for the people that are in the Scholars program, you will often hear that you are babied. This is not true. You will be held to the same standard as everyone else and you will be faced with challenges that those in Davie wont. By the same token, you will have access to the same resources as those in Davie, so dont let that deter you from the Kendall campus.

^^^^^ WORDS OF WISDOM! seriously.
