  1. honestly it all depends on where you have your mind set on. From the get go I knew I wanted to go to Nova. I would suggest to apply EVERYWHERE for sure. I started at FIU right after high school and I ended up not even being allowed to apply to their nursing program bc I had a family emergency one summer that I was taking microbio and the lab and I had to end up dropping the class so i ended up with a W on my transcript and their policy is that you're not allowed to drop or fail any sciences. I even explained to them my situation and they wouldn't budge even though i got an A in the class when i took it the following semester. it's their policy. so i ended up applying to Barry and Nova and i got in to both. So far I LOVE nova but like I said... it depends where you have your mind set on and your particular situation.
  2. the best advice i can give you all is just that, stay on top of them! just constantly call to follow up every other day. because things can always be messed up. I went thru hell and back during the admissions process but like i said it was all worth it. I love it. and as for the anatomy physiology class.... lol its killer... I've always been a good student and always doing well in my classes especially my sciences ... but like im telling you i BOMBED my first test and i busted my behind studying for the rest of the semester. i ended up with a B in the class. the BEST words of wisdom i can give you is DO NOT get discouraged. it's just tough.
  3. hey guys. I see alot of you are stressed out and worried about your application status and so forth and are VERY frustrated with Nova. I used this site alot when I was applying as well and had it saved under my bookmarks on my laptop and was curious to take a look at it and see everyone that's going thru the same craziness I went thru. I'm a second semester student in the entry level nursing program right now in the kendall campus. I just wanted to give you guys piece of mind...... Nova is an extremely prestigious nursing program and there are SOO many people applying for Fall 2010. There has been alot of craziness going on for the past few weeks with the end of spring semester and summer semester just beginning this week. Its very hectic right now. But I promise you they will get everything done. I was originally supposed to begin in Fall 2009 but, like many of you, I had alot of madness going on throughout my application process and ended up finding out that I was missing a prereq that apparently noone noticed until a week before school start. mind you I had already been accepted to the program and all for Fall 2009 but last minute they told me I had to take one more class out of nowhere. but after all was said and done I was tentatively accepted to the program for Spring 2010 after I finished taking that last class and I am absolutely in love with this program. Honestly, if I could remember correctly when i was first accepted I received my letter of acceptance for Fall 2009 in late May. (yes the entire summer past and they told me the 2nd week of august i cant start and have to take one more class). but anyways!... it was all worth it and I promise you all will be well.
  4. ^^^^^ WORDS OF WISDOM! seriously.
  5. also, if you check on your webSTAR we're already registered for classes!
  6. hey guys! kendall campus classes are offered to those who aren't part of the Baptist program as well!
  7. nope havn't heard anything from baptist yet. they were just waiting on my updated letter of acceptance (all i had was a letter stating that i was being deferred acceptance for the January starting class instead of Fall 2009). So i finally got that letter yesterday and im taking it to baptist today.
  8. BVP: CONGRATS!! if you dont mind me asking..... when did they schedule your interview for?
  9. Has anyone applied to the Baptist Program yet?
  10. i was just asking because since i had originally applied to begin Fall 09 and went in for my interview and was accepted (for Fall 09) i received the application for baptist with my acceptance package from Nova. Then 2 weeks before the semster began they called me to get an updated transcript stating i had taken a class that i THOUGHT i had already taken. since we realized i never took the class im taking it now and my acceptance was deferred to January 2010. So i called Nova last week to see if i can reapply for baptist and the lady I spoke to sent me the application. she mentioned it was due this week friday (today).
  11. were the baptist scholars program application included in your acceptance letter package>??
  12. those of you who have received your acceptance letters, did you also receive an application package for the Baptist Scholars Program? If so, what's the deadline to turn it all in?
  13. Hey everyone. Hopefully i'll be starting the nursing program at Nova in January finally. I was originally accepted to begin now in the Fall 2009 but there was a complete miss understanding between me and the school. I applied, was called in for an interview, was accepted and 2 weeks before the semester began I got a call asking if I had taken a class I thought I had taken already:o. Apparently I understood the SOC requirement they mention on the application requirements page as another class I had taken at FIU since SOC at FIU is actually SYG. It was a complete misunderstanding between the school and myself but thankfully they just pushed my acceptance to January 2010 as long as I take the class now in the fall. SOOO I'm stuck taking one class this semester. I cant wait to start and wish you all luck!
  14. Yes! Sure is! I really hope I hear from them soon. Also, (sorry about all the questions... Just anxious) when did you go in for your interview?
  15. xxsappixx: if you don't mind me asking, when did you receive your letter?
