I have not seen a thread for this class and would like to start one. For those of you who have taken this class, what did you need the mentor to exactly do for you during the 5 weeks? I have a few candidates, but I am not sure how much commitment the mentor needs to have for my project. Thank you!

Thank you for responding, Clevelin. I did receive the email last week with the attachment. It says the mentor needs to spend 20h over the 5 weeks with the student to discuss the project. I wonder what else the mentor needs to do.

The email you are referring to here. :o) I didn't have any issues with the assignment, thank goodness.

It was just like a welcome letter. Nothing substantial. You have got all the information from the BB by now. I just got all the grading back today for last week's assignments. I think I'm on the right track now.

I didnt have any issues with the assignment. As I stated before I thought it was pretty straight forward. My grades were submitted today too...definitely on the right track :) Glad everything worked out for you as well. Oh and thanks for clarifying about that email. The post on BB from the TA made it seem like there were specifics about the project. Anywho, thanks.

has everyone received their grades for their plan of action assignment?

I received mine today.

I got the grade back today too. So far so good. I am working on the 3rd week ICP that is so boring.

I agree with you that week 3 assignment is boring. I will be working on my midterm ICP Saturday.I am now trying to finish DB for week3.

Anyone have an idea what we are supposed to do for gaps in existing data??? Do we take a journal article and identify gaps, do we decide which gaps we have seen since we have started researching our topics, or just take a stab in the dark??? I feel like the gaps section and the what more research section are kinda one in the same....ughhhh the poor clarity is so exhausting :(

So it's Friday night and I just now see the email from the professor sent today telling us we are not allowed to use ANY direct quotes in our discussion boards and that the TAs have been told to deduct points if we do. Really? I realize by this class we are supposed to keep the quotes to a minimum, but it would have been nice to let us know this new rule before Friday night of Week 3.

I struggled for this part too. I agree the gaps section and the more research section are kinda the same. I also don't know what to write about the progress linking QSEN and KSAs.

I was surprised to see that the professor said in the email "You all need to step up on your professional writing. Don't write like your telling a story...". I wonder what kind of writing she is referring to. Now I feel a bit lost.

I took it as how are my KSAs guiding me through the progression of my project to meet my global and project goals using my QSEN.
