Ive been looking through the class assignments. We have to do a cultural Genogram and answer a bunch of questions.

Anyone who took this class already, did you have to answer the questions in the gray box or all the questions on that web page?

Might have better luck if you ask this in the regular OU thread. I don't imagine too many people who have already taken the class are reading this thread.

You create your genogram as seen on the example from the web page, then answer all of those questions on the web page.

Ugh, I am so aggravated. I ordered the book to rent.. they cancelled my order last minute, so now I don't have it. I can't find it to rent anywhere, it says not available everywhere I check. I tried to buy it on Amazon, it's saying it will take 3 weeks to get here??? I'm trying to buy it on Half.com, and I keep getting a critical error when I try to check out. Class starts on Monday and I don't have the darn book. I'm loosing my mind:banghead:

Scratch that. I found a place to rent it for $25.00 including priority shipping. We don't need the book until the 2nd week, and I will have it before then. Much better than the $70 I was going to have to spend to buy the book.

Yay for you!! Where did do rent it?

Hi "simply" - I had the same problem trying to rent a book last quarter from Barnes & Noble. Ended up having to buy it and didn't get it as early as I would have liked it. Glad you got it all sorted out.

What does everyone do with their books after each class? Do you keep them, sell them, or a little of both? I do a little of both.

I was an insomniac last night so decided to dig into this class a little. I was able to get all my Mod.1 info organized, printed out what I wanted to print, and took the pre-assessment. I started working on both assignments for the week and I don't think they are too bad at all. I didn't find any inconsistencies with this Module. One thing I did not see for Mod. 1 work was any requirements for citations/references in assignments or discussion posts. My section hasn't received a letter from the TA yet, so that info might come in that letter. It would be wonderful if we did not have to use citations/refs. in discussion posts. My last class required 2 cite/refs. for everything, even in all replies to discussion posts.

I revamped my BSN schedule and plan to be done in February or March of 2013. My original plan was to be done in December but to do that I would have had to take 4 classes during summer quarter. I was stressing about it and realized that it just wasn't worth my sanity to take 4 classes at once. I'll have 3 classes this last 5 weeks (if I don't test out of 310) and they are going to be a lot for me to handle. I really wanted to be done by the end of the year but I guess a few more months isn't that much longer. Okay I'm just yammering on here, aren't I?

Hi modgoth1! I will probably be finishing around the end of 2013. I rent all of my books (except for that APA manual and nursing scope). There are several companies, Chegg, ecampus, and the one I like the best, campusbookrentals. I always do the free shipping plan (7-14 days) and get them in about 4 days! Seems to run me about $25 a book and you can pick your rental times. Worth checking out these websites. I also have started on Mod 1...not to bad....even though there are several tasks, non of them seem too involved. Luckily we have a nice team going here!!! Welcome to all the newbies!

this is only my second class, but it seems like a lot to me.

modgoth1, i noticed the same thing. no req for apa for discussions... make me a bit nervous that they will say , oh and by the way......

in the discussion board post for mod 1 it say in the rubric... connects clinical practice to personal experience.

but there are no questions that speak about clinical practice. how are you going to handle that? anyone?

I ended up getting it from college book renter.com. They seemed to be cheaper than the other places as well. I'm going to use them next time as long as I get this in good time. It was only like $15 to rent the book for 60 days.

An extra couple months isn't horrible, especially when you consider that the 2 weeks of summer overlap, so that would really be a lot to take! I don't even know when I'll be done. I have to take a Chem class at some point. I'm probably going to do it online, since the classes here are all 3 days a week at the local colleges, and I can not do 3 days a week, work, a 3 year old and a newborn. Not happening, lol. I have to sit down and try to plot out my classes. I'm going to double up at some point, but I need to adjust to 2 kids first, I think. I wanted to double up this session, but there is nothing I can take, with the switch to semesters.

Not sure on the references. You are right, I never saw anything about it. Be nice if we don't have to worry about that!

Word to the wise ... ALWAYS reference even when it doesn't specifically state to. Got dinged once - never again!!
