I typed out the questions roughly onto a word document. I copied the cultural assessment in the book and then went with the flow when I went we went completly off topic. I believe I have enough to cover the areas needed

Got an 80 on the quiz, although one of the answers I must have accidentally moved the dot, because I selected the correct answer, but somehow when I submitted it, it was the answer below that was marked. Hopefully I get good grades on the rest, because it dropped my 99 down to a 92.77:cry:

I had 2 surveys in my Ohio edu mail. I made a special point to point out how much over emphasis they give to APA formatting. I could spend 2 days on preparing a paper and get points off for a stupid little APA mistake, like a comma instead of a period.

that doesn't make sense to me.

I also said that if they want disucssion boards to be more useful for students to have actual discussions on, they shoud do away with the APA fomat requirements for them.

No one will probably listen.

Thanks - I also got the surveys.

Has anyone lost points for not citing pages in journals? I lost 0.5 points for not citing a page because there was no visible page number - and although the Prof. or TA says we can use Purdue OWl APA guide, the Purdue Owl says cite pages, but it is not necessary, but the when I asked the TA where the page numbers were in my article, she said to use paragraphs. So now the way to do it seems like para.7 or so - lost 0.5 points for this. Has anyone else gotten dinged for not using pages or has anyone actually used para.??

Just wondering. The 0.5s add up to a heavy loss. I am getting very discouraged here.

You started the paper already!?

I don't even have the person I'm going to interview picked out yet. I am going to change the culture b/c the one I was going to do, no one speaks English, and I don't want to do this through an interpreter.

I didn't do great on the quiz.... passed it but not great.

I thought the quiz was very tricky, and you have to really read the question repeatedly, and remember that everyone gets a different quiz.

I can't even begin to tell you the stupid things I have been dinged for in a class....not italicizing, referencing the paragraph when a page number was not there (which was correct btw), and using all caps for the word "running head" on a paper. I have learned NOTHING about writing technique....just formatting. We have all been there at some point, rest assured.

Thanks for your comment - I really thought I was the only one with the ability to get ridiculous dings - I was feeling rather special....so glad to know I am not alone!:nurse:

Poop! I interviewed my person - but have to go back and figure out how much of her is still old-country. I was so lucky - I sent her an email of the questions - and she filled it out briefly and when I met with her for lunch she was already expecting the answers and she signed the consent and all - sheesh - that part was so easy. Now the writing part -

did you write down questions to ask, or just make it up as you went?

All the questions have to be from that Giger davidhizar model on pages 7-9 or so of the book and have to be based on their model - the whole assignment is on using the Giger model - welll- that was per our TA's announcement I think - going by memory here - so I retyped out the questions from the book in WORD and printed it out.
