For those working on this weeks assignment the cultural summary, I just wonder how everyone is doing?
How long are your responses to each question?
Are we writing the summary based on thier original culture or based on them living in the United States, for example does neighborhood health centers mean in their original country or in Ohio?
For me this is a hard assignment since I don't know anything about the culture I picked, almost everything I am typing is somone elses ideas. Hoping I don't cross some invisibel plagerism line.
I'm with ya. I know nothing about Native Americans and that's why I chose them. Really none of it is from my own assumptions. I believe the questions refer to centers here in the US. I did find a clinic in another part of the state so I will reference that....but none near me. I think 1-2 paragraphs seems to be the thing to do....as long as it's scholarly! :) Luckily I actually have a friend of a friend who is NA.....I can talk to him if needed. I'm keeping this simple....it's not like a term paper or anything! My motto for this class......SIMPLICITY.

Mine is going to be pretty brief. I chose the ethinic group/culture that I will be completing the final paper for this class on. There are no specific healthcare centers in Maine dedicated to this specific culture - but if they were still in Quebec, some would most likely choose somewhere where French was spoken. Also, there are many people in this area that do still speak "the mother tongue". I am very briefly discussing traditional vs how the culture has assimilated but held to its own identity. Does that help?
Hope this is right!!!!! Anyone else do it different?
