Thanks, I think my search techniques are bad because I rarely get relevant results, LOL! I think I searched the entire forum so I will search just this sub forum and see what I get.

Here are a couple threads about this:
When trying to do a search, you can go to a specific forum; find, "Search this section". Type in words that are relevant to your search and click, "Go":
Or, you can to above and to the right to a site-wide search by typing in relevant words and click, "Search":
What if you obtain your NP degree and can't find an NP job (which will likely happen in a mere year and a half when I graduate)? I can't be expected to quit my job as an RN before securing an NP job. This concerns me, and I've even thought about changing my specialty - to an administrative MSN....

I am just full of questions today, thank you for indulging me!
I have seen lots of discussion discouraging RNs from working as a tech, due to role confusion and being held to the standards of the higher license, even though you are performing the duties of the lesser one. I was wondering if this same holds true for NPs working as a staff RN? Is it advisable or not to continue working as a floor nurse once you have your NP? Would you be held to a higher standard than any other RN?
