Hi all,
I will beginning NP school in the spring 2013 and am so worried about passing the core research courses. I feel good about path and assessment though. How are those classes anyway? Is it more about paper writing? Please help ease my mind, anyone!!
Thanks,

After a year down and my core research done its really not that bad! Yes, a lot of paper writing and time consuming, but easily done even with a bust schedule (I work full time have two small children and took two classes per semester).
Just take it an assignment at a time and you will do fine! Beat wishes!

I found pharm and patho were a lot of exams and quizzes. Assessment was a lot of papers and write ups of H&Ps.

In my research class we had to come up with a quanitative or qualitative research proposal. Mine was about 50 pages. my topic was pediatric pain assessments in DD children. What i liked about the course was that we picked our topics at the begining of the semester and did a lit review. Then the whole semster we did the proposal peice by peice so by the end doing the 50 pages wasnt so bad because ot was worked on the whole semester. Adv pharm was all exams. Adv patho was just a midterm and final with mini paper assignments. I am taking adv assessment now and its lecture and then practice time in lab with a midterm/final practicum and written exam.
Good luck
