Novant Health Nurse Residency Program Summer 2020

Hi everyone!

I applied for my first nurse residency program a week ago at novant and have a few questions!

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back after applying?

How competitive is the program in general and how competitive is it to get placed in your preferred track? (mine is women's and children)

Does anyone have any interview insight/advice for residency programs in general?

yay! mine changed to "recruiter reviewing" after I declined the offer so I'm hoping maybe its for a hospital closer to Charlotte? IDK I have never seen that status change so who knows!

Hey! Was the person you spoke to referring to Charlotte when they were talking about second round?

Yeah because I asked her directly about Charlotte but they way she said it sounded like all of the programs have sent out 1st offers and they do a 2nd round if they need it. I think both cities go through a similar process so it might be the same for Winston! She wasn't even 100% sure if Charlotte was going to do 2nd rounds. I emailed the manager of the program but haven't heard back yet but I'm not expecting any fast replies with everything going on I'm sure hiring new grad is almost last on their list.

Also! Do you know if anyone from your program ever had the application status of "recruiter reviewing application" I'm just so curious as to what that means

I emailed the manager I interview with and they said they are finalizing the process and we should hear soon from he. This was for Manassas but I think they all work together.

Yes, I got an offer for medsurg in Winston like a week ago but I turned it down because I really wanted women and children’s.

ohh that sucks. They couldn’t offer you something for mother and baby

Yeah ? I think it’s because they don’t really have as many positions in Winston and they had already done their first round interviews.
