Hello future nurses!
I'm very anxious about my admission decision. Does anyone else feel the same way? I applied to Nova at the beginning of this month, checking the VIP page 3-4 times daily.
What campuses is everyone applying too? How was the interview process like? Did anyone attend the information session or spoke to a counselor?
I look forward to meeting everyone!
I attended the online chat here are a few things that were said, quoted straight from the advisers themselves:
"you will be on a "provisional acceptance" status until you finish in December"
"you can expect to take about 12 credits per semester"
" tier 1 : gpa 3.4-3.5 and above all pre-requisites completed Tier 2: 3.0 gpa and above completed prereq's/ tier 3: 3.0 gpa pre-req's in progress
"the Financial Aid Department will work with you to discuss options for additional financial aid. Currently, students have 30 days from the start of class to finalize all financial aid or payment arrangements before penalties apply."
"-the interview is a crucial part of the selection. If you do not pass the interview portion, even though you met the other minimum requirements, you may not be selected"
"most of the time it's with the same classmates but the class sizes vary so you may be split up at one point...but you all in it together overall"
" the average overall gpa is a 3.4 and the average science gpa is a 3.2, so academically they are inclined to succeed highly."
"the courses are taught by excellent and experienced faculty members... Zero teaching assistants... I might add!"
"-the interviews are held every Thursday starting October 4--6 weeks"
"If you already complete your FAFSA, and have added NOVA to the list of schools that should receive the results, then you will just have to monitor your email and mail for communication from us on the next steps"
"100% N-CLEX passing rate since July..."
"Average class size=30-WOW, awesome one-on-one!"
"Facilities vary but similar: here in the main campus we have a 12,500 square foot 20-bed "nursing" hospital/lab..."
"You work in high fidelity simulation & use computerized mannaquins that look & act real...one even delivers a baby!!!"
"You practice and perform all your skills in your lab without the potential to injure anyone, and then you will be competent when you actually enter the clinical setting so you'll be able to better perfect your skills on real people!"
Hey everyone! This is my first time in this website and I'm so glad I found it so I can chat with people that are going through the same situation as I am. I applied to Nova Kendall Campus and today 9/21 around 5pm ET I received the email about the interview and already registered for it. I'm attending on Oct 11 at 11:30 am. It only gave me the option of oct 4 or oct 11.
Congrats Sotelo!!!
If you read the previous forums you can find useful information about what prospective students went through in regards to the interview questions. Be very confident! They don't create those interviews so we get nervous or uncomfortable, but to learn more about us and how quickly we respond/react to questions and circumstances. Keepp us updated!! I'm still awaiting my email :)
