Nova Southeastern Winter 2013 Entry Level BSN

U.S.A. Florida

Hello future nurses!

I'm very anxious about my admission decision. Does anyone else feel the same way? I applied to Nova at the beginning of this month, checking the VIP page 3-4 times daily.

What campuses is everyone applying too? How was the interview process like? Did anyone attend the information session or spoke to a counselor?

I look forward to meeting everyone!

All this waiting has me going crazy lol. I called today and they said after October they would start letting us know

after october?!!!!!?! so basically they mean november.........which basically means 2 months?!!! lol omg this sucks!

When I called they a representative told me that they are doing rolling basis. That they already started with the interviews. It nerve wrecking because last semester everyone who applied had to wait a certain time frame for interviews and then another for decisions. That way most of the individuals who applied were on the same level awaiting for their emails even if they arrived two days to a week afterwards. Remain positive to attract positive results! I check my emails periodically during the day, check my mail, and call constantly. Also, because the deadline has been extended it's likely that we have to wait until end of the year notices. My theory is that maybe last semester a lot of people rejected their admission to attend cheaper schools such as MDC and BCC, so they had accept students who did not meet the greatest credentials.

okay. what exactly is rolling basis? however send the application first? or that they have everything compeleted already?

Thanks!:nurse:

yes, nova is pretty $$$$

Rolling basis is when the institution accept and review applications as they arrive, as an alternative of waiting to examine all applications together. I believe once your admission documents has been received and the admission fee is paid, then the panel/representatives review your credentials. :twocents:

this makes perfect sense because when i sent my application back in july a couple days ater i got a call from them asking if i could send them a transcript with the classes im taking this fall because they looked at my application and wanted to know what classes i would be taking which meant they had reviewed my application right when they recieved it . so now the fact tht i know theyre using a rolling basis makes it all click. I was looking at the thread from people who applied for Spring2012 and about half the ppl who got accepted denied their spot to go to miami dade and other cheaper schools so maybe this is why theyre using a rolling basis this year

Hey niqu92, I agree wit you, I've been following the threads for previous semesters and I've noticed that 1.) It was not rolling basis because the individuals who applied received notices for everything together even if it was a couple of days apart.2.) I also recall reading posts that said "I rejected my admission to attend ___." So I believe that even if they had many applicants, they selected those who got accepted and a few more "just in case" but since so many people rejected they had to do later interviews. So now that they pushed the date they have more qualified applicants hence the money they earn from each applicant (fee).

Well I spoke with a nursing advisor back in early august and she told me that they wait until after the deadline to make the decisions. It gives everyone a fair shot to get in is what I was told. So I am sure that it isn't a rolling basis because the lady I spoke with is apart of the committee that makes the decisions. I sent my application back in late august and haven't received any response from nova since. As of right now we are all waiting till the deadline passes to hear from them. I just wanted to clarify what everyone has been saying here in the post!! Good luck!!!!!!

So if its like that we won't be hearing from them till mid oct.

Hello Dolphins1005, I'm glad everyone has the opportunity to hear from them together (that's not what the representative told me, but speaking to a member from the committee makes it official). I sent my application in August as well. Good luck to you too!
