Hi future nurses! I've been searching for a recent forum of the BSN program for Winter 2014 but couldn't find any so I decided to make one myself. I applied to the Winter 2014 BSN program at NOVA. All my prereqs are done, my GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. I was hoping to receive feedback from anyone who has applied in the past or is currently applying like myself to the Winter 2014 program! Have any of you gotten an interview call yet?:nailbiting:
Thanks for the great information :-) I am really nervous about the advanced A&P class.
You'll be fine, just put in the work. I wasn't trying to scare you, just help what you're focusing on. Definitely pay attention to anatomy but focus most of your energy on physiology. The anatomy is just like the prerequisites anatomy so if you keep that fresh in your mind you'll be good. The physiology however is much more detailed than in the prerequisites. I would read up on the physiology of all the body systems you went through in your prerequisites. Again, just work at it and you'll do great.
what scores did you guys get on your kaplan (those of you accepted into the program)
I got a 75 which is not a great score...but a lot of people who took it with me got scores in the 60s. The test itself wasn't as hard as I thought and surprisingly the reading was the most difficult. Good luck!
Good morning all, congrats on the acceptance for some of you.
Just finished my first semester at Nova, and I survived. It has been a little challenging, but you guys can make it, make sure you keep up with your study and listen to your anatomy and physio recordings over and over. Also buy the book, it will be a complement of the lectures...
Good luck, let me know if I can be any help.
I am going to Miami/Kendall campus for the fall 2014.To all the current students, how many books did you need to carry on a daily basis? Trying to figure out if I need to upgrade my bag. Were any of the books in an ebook format?
I'm in my second semester at the Davie campus. You don't have a whole bunch of classes on the same day so you don't need to upgrade your book bag. However, if you stay at school to study after class and don't like having to walk back to your car I might consider another bag. I've seem people with huge bags, people with just the string style light bags, and people with no bags. It's really just up to your preference. Also, some books you can get in ebook format if you're comfortable with that.
