Nova Southeastern University BSN Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all! It may be quite early for a Fall 2019 forum, but it's better to be prepared. I'm in the process of completing my pre-reqs at MDC and am projected to finish Spring 2019. So with that being said, my plan is to apply to NSU for the Fall 2019 nursing program. Anyone out there beginning their journey with admissions, etc. ?

I'm currently in the program....the selection process is not cut and paste. There are many variables factored in.

Your Kaplan score tells them how you think critically (Google critical thinking to understand this statement) not how much knowledge you have. Critical thinking is something you can develop so typically the score doesn't carry a lot of weight.

What type of presence did you have during the interview...do you make eye contact, how direct are your answers to the questions, Did you ask any questions (which you definitely should) and were those questions related to better understanding or fluff.

Lastly, your GPA...well what can I say about this one....hmmm...ok. students cheat...so while you may have earned yours the next person might have had an advantage...so again it does carry weight, but not as much as most would think.

Stay positive. If you got this far there is no reason you won't get the call.

Nursing70, can you share what stats you had when applying for nova and the interview process as well as the kaplan? i would just like to get an idea if that's ok:)

Your advice was so needed and made me feel better! I didn’t ask any questions during the interview because I felt like most were answered during the tour and I researched a lot. I scored an 82 on the exam and my GPA is a 3.8! Thank you so much and good luck to you ?

I'm worried because my GPA is not the highest. Overall, I have a 3.11 GPA with a Science GPA of 3.5, but that is including classes not needed for nursing such as Bio 2 and another biology class. I've worked hard to get here, and would really like to be accepted. I hope I do good on the Kaplan!

I don’t think your GPA is bad at all!! College is hard and having above a 3.0 is very impressive. You seem very hard working and I am sure they noticed that which is why you have an interview!!

I’m seeing in some people’s interviews who were in groups they would tell some 1 person they’d hear back in a week or two while they would tell the others they’d hear something within 3 days or by the following monday (depending on the interview day)? Sounds sketch and scary lol

I also was able to get in contact with a few Nova students who were accepted and was told the Kaplan score should be the least of your worries. They scores 60-70 and they were also peers they knew who score 40-50 and still got in. So my advice to you guys is still study but focus on your answers for your interview the most.

Anybody interview 4/2? The wait is killing me LOL it’s only been 2 days
