Nova Southeastern University BSN Fall 2018

Published

Hello, I saw that there wasn't a thread created for the fall term 2018 in nova. I wanted to know if anybody is already studying for the test, and if so, what book are you using to study?

I had my interview at the Miami Campus on the 6th of February and got accepted already and I too am taking anatomy this semester. I didn't study any other section besides anatomy for this reason. There's a few quizlets that helped me with that section. Goodluck!!

I finally received an email, and my interview is on March 6 at main campus in Davie. I am excited and kind of nervous at the same time, and hopefully everything works out well because I am flying all the way from CA. Hopefully I get to meet someone from here interviewing the same day!

Good day all,

I just found out I got ACCEPTED. I can't believe it.... I interviewed a week ago at the Miami campus (we were 19 candidates in total).

The interview wasn't that bad - just critical thinking questions - what is the role of a nurse? tell me a little bit about you, what would you do if a person is posting negative comments on social media about of friend of your? . the reading section and grammar was a little hard for me since English is not my first language.

But Math and Anatomy were in general fair.

Kaplan Score: 70%

GPA: 3.89

Currently taking Microbiology and statistic.

Has anyone received their acceptance package?

I received my acceptance package today. It took a while to get here.

Hey Leo, it's Jorge from the day of the interview. It was a pleasure meeting you. I also found out today that I was accepted! I'm very excited to start. Congrats and I hope to see you again soon.

Hey Jorge,

Congrats man!! it was a pleasure meeting you too. I am so ready to start my new path... They said that I should get the acceptance package within 5 or 6 days. Email me: [email protected]...

Hi everyone!

I had my interview on the 20th at the Miami campus and just wanted to give you guys a recap of how it went to help you all out.

When I signed up I got an email telling me to go to PAC 334. DO NOT GO THERE!!! I made the mistake of heading over to that room and no ones was there! It wasn't until I basically ran to the main building and security sent me to another room. The PAC 334 ended up being the room we would be tested in later on.

First, we were spoken to about what our day would be like, then we were given a tour of a campus. Afterwards, we were taken to the PAC building to take the Kaplan. Now, I can't really decide which was harder, TEAS or Kaplan, but I did decide that they were just completely different. The math was the easiest portion. A lot easier than the Math section of the TEAS. The reading was okay, it was just story after story which got a little annoying and hard to concentrate on. The Writing (English portion in the TEAS) was the one I hated the most. Unlike the TEAS, the Kaplan would give stories and ask questions like "which sentence should the following sentence go after", you had to constantly be reading the passages over and over because it only asked questions based off of different sentences. I personally liked the English portion in the TEAS a lot more as I felt it provided more variety of questions. Now, the science

portion,The only the I liked about this section is that it didn't ask about chemistry. However, I found the questions to be pretty difficult. I did a lot worse than on the TEAS so I feel a bit indifferent about it. My suggestion is study and go over anything and everything about anatomy and physiology as there really isn't ONE thing you should focus on. Overall I scored a 71% on the test.

The exam is self timed. You have almost 3 hours for a 91 question test. Whenever you're done you're free to go until you have to meet again in the main building to write an essay. You're given 30 minutes to complete the essay and it's written on paper, not a computer. After that, the program director came in to give information and answer any questions we may have had. Following that, we were introduced to some professors that would be conducting the interviews. It was a total of 6 people interviewing, split into groups of 2. So, there was 3 interviews going on at the same time.

The interview was extremely quick for me consisting of mostly scenario questions. Like said before, what we would do if someone was cheating, if someone was talking badly on social media of your fellow classmates, what we thought was the role of a nurse etc. I was there from 8:30-3

Now, I am just waiting to hear back from NOVA and the days feel like years. Good luck to everyone applying! I hope we all get in!!!
