Hi everyone!
So I guess im the first to start the thread for Nova's Fall 2014 admissions. I put in my application about 2 weeks ago, and actually did my prereqs here as well. I am still in the process of completing Micro and A&P 2. I am VERY nervous about the admission process because my GPA is not as high as what im seeing on this site.
Thoughts?
I had my interview last week as well, they said about two weeks but that they have interviews all through June. I am not sure if they have already accepted people on a rolling basis or will they make decisions when all applicants have been interviewed. The interview went by much quicker than I thought it would be and it clearly seemed the interviewers were exhausted with the questions.
Does anyone know someone who has gone through the Baptist scholar program? I get so many conflicting stories regarding it's pros and cons. Some people state the three year contract isn't worth it because the pay is very low, which would make sense since they pay the tuition at Nova which isn't cheap... Others say the pay is the same as any starting nurse depending on the location though you aren't guaranteed a spot in those areas. They also made it very clear to me in the interview that the job was not guaranteed and that if those managers decided against hiring you, hence you would then need to pay back the tuition with the burden of NOT having a job to boot.
Hello everyone! I have my interview on Monday and I'm very anxious not knowing what to expect. There aren't many post regarding the actually interview process (questions asked, etc), and essay. I'm concerned about the exam, however I've been reading the Kaplan Review Book and I'm feeling a little more confident. Any insight anyone can offer regarding the interview day would be appreciated. Feel free to reach out to me directly: [email protected]. Thanks
There are a ton of threads on here about the interview process. The consensus is that it is a laid back day and to just be yourself.
In regards to the Baptist Program, I'm not sure about the pay on the job part. I do know someone who went through the program and loved Nova. She is now working in the ICU at Baptist. I do know that the last semester is spent with a preceptor and you do get paid for that. The job opportunity will vary by location for sure though. If you want the ICU but only South Miami offers the ICU opening and Kendall location doesn't, than you would apply to the South Miami location if you really want that position. I've heard about the paying tuition back. Not too sure about it though. I think that would be a question for orientation day if given the scholarship.

Nova is my first choice school and I'm excited to begin :) I had my interview with baptist about 1 week ago and I must say it was so excruciatingly nerve wrecking! Lol did anyone feel the same? Anyway, it is great to read about all of you and I look forward to seeing someone of you in my classes Xoxo
