Hi everyone!
So I guess im the first to start the thread for Nova's Fall 2014 admissions. I put in my application about 2 weeks ago, and actually did my prereqs here as well. I am still in the process of completing Micro and A&P 2. I am VERY nervous about the admission process because my GPA is not as high as what im seeing on this site.
Thoughts?
Hello everyone! I have my interview on Monday and I'm very anxious not knowing what to expect. There aren't many post regarding the actually interview process (questions asked, etc), and essay. I'm concerned about the exam, however I've been reading the Kaplan Review Book and I'm feeling a little more confident. Any insight anyone can offer regarding the interview day would be appreciated. Feel free to reach out to me directly: [email protected]. Thanks
@gui0312- Yes. They use to accept 30 as far I know but I think that since they lose students after the first semester because of the Anatomy and Physiology classes, they decided to accept 40 knowing they wouldn't have those same 40 in the end. Just what I'm thinking. I applied and had my interview in May. They should be just about done interviewing because the deadline is June 15th.
@VCmiami- I posted about the exam in prior post and in regard to the interview as well. Don't be nervous. Be confident. The interview really isn't as bad. Why do you want to be a nurse? Qualities of a nurse etc. and some situational questions where you discuss the answer with someone else and present it. It is a group interview. For me I had test, break, interview then tour. It can go the opposite way as well. Just depends. Overall, the most important thing is your confidence.
You were right! The day was a breeze. There were a lot of us and I was in group 6 so I had several hours to meet and chat with two others in my group. When we finally went in we were all very comfortable with each other. We had even chatted about one of group questions they had presented us with.
The he exam was not so bad, except for the writing and science parts. My overall score was a 78%.
Before our day started they informed us that all the seats for the Davie Fall cohort were full. They mentioned that Ft Myers had about 15 open seats and told us to think about whether we were interested in those. During the interview they asked again as I opted for going to Ft Myers. Now I just have to wait and see if I made the cut.
Has any of the accepted students dealt with Financial Aid? They stressed not being able to work and the budget they set is fairly high ($62,000 a year), which includes housing, transportation, etc. I was wondering if anyone has been awarded aid to cover all those expenses?
I'm sure you will do great. The exam is not bad at all. For me the hardest part was the science. Just take a deep breath and do your best. For math you get to use a calculator. The test does not count against you. Make sure you get a good night sleep and just do your best. If you feel yourself panicking take a mini break breath and tell yourself you have this :-) let me know how it goes. Congratulations and good luck.
