Nova Southeastern University ABSN program 2023

Published

Hey Everyone,

I didn't see a thread for Nova Southeastern University ABSN 2023 so I wanted to start one. I did both of my applications, ( NursingCas and the school's application) on the same day and I think it took me a little bit over three weeks to hear from them. I have an interview date scheduled for the 13th of next month at the Miami Campus. I am excited and a little bit nervous at the same time. Please feel free to reply or add something. Thanks :) GO SHARKS !!

Hey Girls,

Congrats into getting in !! Y’all will get the next steps in the acceptance package and then y’all will go from there !!

It should be the 9th . Based on the classes that I saw on the website .

Yes, that is correct. Looking forward to seeing you this semester! (:

Yasmin,

Same here!!. Don’t forget to register for the Orientation on December 15th .

Guys, I'm currently a student in the ABSN program at Nova Miami. I STRONGLY URGE you to apply to other schools. Nova has been horrible thus far. The program is a disorganized mess. The professors and administrators are down right MEAN PEOPLE. They don't care about you. They treat us like an inconvenience. The staff are BULLIES. When the students raise concerns they turn it on us like everything is our fault.

The program is such a mess I don't even know where to begin. Someone tried to warn me in all allnurse forums when I was applying but I ignored their advice and I genuinely wish I would have taken one of my other ABSN acceptances. I've never experienced such abuse from a University.

Honestly, I'm really sorry to say it. I got into UM and FIU ABSN. I chose Nova basically because it was the closest to my house. Oh boy do I regret that. It's a really sketchy school. Most people in the program can't even believe what is going on. We all have bachelors from other Universities.  I've heard similar stories about the Ft. Meyers campus but honestly, I'm not too sure. I would encourage you to reach out to other students before making the decision to come to Nova. These people yell and belittle you as if you're a child. Feels like I'm back in Highschool. I've never been so disrespected in my life and by a program that is all over the place. I'm just grateful to be in the ABSN and trying to get out as fast as possible. 1 semester down 3 more to go.

I only write this message because someone tried to warn me on these forums when I was accepted and I ignored them just assuming they are a bad student and didn't want to put in the work. I've been a straight A student all my life and I'm not a troublemaker. One of the higher-ups literally told our class to stop complaining about the program because we could be worse off and be dead like those students who were murdered at the University of Idaho.(WOW!)

Oh my Gosh! That’s terrible . But for me, it’s kinda too late because I’m like a month away before I start and I don’t have any other options ;(

hey yall, I'm still debating between broward college asn and nova but after those comments, I'm nervous. how's the semester and classes so far?

Hey Ana,

for me personally, along with many others in my class, we really enjoy the structure of NSU and our semester so far. For some other students that may not be the case but it truly is an amazing campus with very student oriented professors that want to see you succeed. I want to add that an ASN is only a portion of what you need to maintain a nursing license in the future, you're better off going to NSU to obtain your BSN than getting an associates in nursing at broward. It is 100% worth it coming to this university! Hope this helps (:

Of course! I'm glad I can help ?

That's great you'll be starting later this year! The course load isn't crammed since it's paced differently for the traditional program rather than the ABSN program. We currently have three courses right now and it gives us sufficient time to study and manage our other classes. For our next semester we will have more courses and we will be starting clinicals but the work load is expected in nursing school. NSU really creates a good environment to manage all our courses efficiently which are taught by knowledgeable professors. You should expect a lot of scholarly writing and public speaking. I advise you to refresh on your anatomy and physiology as this is currently our most dense course. You'll really like it here! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
