did you take any kind of review course, such as Kaplan's, etc? These courses go over things like this and give you tons of review questions and the reasoning behind the answers. Also, remeber ABC (airway, breathing, circulation) to help you decide who you should see first. I also bought Examforce Cram master book at a local book store that had lots of great info. Good luck!!!
I too felt like I had a lot of prioritizing (mostly peds) questions. Only other piece of advice I can give is take your time with these questions and apply possible diagnoses to each one (I know they tell you not to, but really how else do you decide who's on the verge of coding, ect. ) And since you know you have problems with testing, be sure to schedule it for the time of day that you are at your peak and do something you enjoy before testing in order to help you relax. I'll be praying for you.
I'm about to take mine for the 3rd time and I agree...I just don't think I'm a good test taker. It's so frustrating. I don't have $300 to shell out for more reviews either. Both times I had 265 questions, and the last time I had TONS of priority questions. I just knew I passed. Nope! Good luck next time! Hopefully I'll pass on June 5th!
Just found out that I failed the NCLEX for the second time. I had a TON of prioritizing questions...and no I'm not imagining it, there were actually a TON. Anyone have any advice or books that go over priortizing?
I'm sorry to hear that. But dont be discouraged you're not alone. Your time will surely come. I have this book that help my friends with NCLEX prioritization questions.
Prioritization, Delegation Assignment Practice exercises for M-S Nursing by Linda La Charity. It bought mine at amazon for less than $20. Hope this help.
Best of Luck!!!
