what NOT to do when job hunting.

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

hi everyone. I just want to hear about some things you should not do or say when looking for a job.

I feel that every detail counts.

for example... is it okay to call and ask if they are hiring? name of director of nursing?

just wondering.

Ok so I don't like the job I took and have an interview on Tuesday how do I explain I just started and want to leave it, to the interviewer? It's a really great opportunity with the city and want to nail it. I hate when they ask "tell me about yourself". What other than my education and where I'm from should I throw in there?

That you enjoy meeting people, new experiences, etc.

If they push mention that you are a cat, dog, hamster whatever lover and go to shows (if true).

They are just looking to see that you are a healthy, rounded individual.

Your current job? Somwhere along the lines of: I feel that your organization might fit me better because.....(fill in the blank)

don't go in reeking of cigarette smoke... and no, gum wont help...

Make sure you want the job!!!!! If this is NOT what you wanted, then why did you apply for it? They have a job to offer, and a position. If what you want does not fit, then why ask? Be honest, if you can not work all "days" and the job is 7 -3 Then why are you even asking? Don't take a job and think you can change it later! And be aware, they are not your family. They are you work place. They are paying for you to be there when you are being paid to be there. This is why it is called work. We are there to do what we need to do and get paid for it.
