I am a seasonal allied health provider with over 10 years in the health-care field from clinical to clerical roles. I am embarking on my path to nursing. However, I do not wish to do bedside nursing in the hospital. Someone said I might change my mind during clinical's and I highly doubt it lol. Public health seems like a good fit for me or school nursing.
But I was curious to know if anyone else was looking into other specialties besides hospital nursing?

Yes, long-term goal I want to work as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am looking forward to working as a psych RN, but the PMHNP role was what got me interested in nursing as a career. The more exposure to health care I've received, both through work and through nursing school the more respect I've gained for staff nurses. However, I can still realistically say that even though much of bedside nursing *is* enjoyable for me, I still want to move towards the NP role.
