nosebleeds and prevention

I get a lot of nosebleeds in my school - i probably see 15 kids a day with some sort of bleeding out of their nose. The treatment's no big deal - sit, pinch the nose closed, wait for the clot to pass, little vaseline up the schnoz.... but the thing I can't get over is just how pervasive the issue seems to be. I suppose I can blame it a bit on the heating system in the school, but I see just as much epistaxis during times when the heat isn't turned on...

Any ideas on how I can attack the problem as a whole? I can't very well humidify the whole school (though I do have certain rooms humidified with powerful whole house humidifiers due to a 504 on a child with a bleeding disorder - so you'd think it would help ) Anyone else having similar issues?

Depending on the age I'd say tell them to stop picking their nose...this is the time of year that their boogey noses make them pick.

I've had a ton of them since school started in August. I don't think there's much you can do, maybe sending a flyer home and hope the parents read it. Is it the same couple of kids or is it different kids? Mine are all over the place.
