Northwell Health RN Fellowships Oct 2021

Published

Hi!

Just wanted to create a thread on here for the October 2021 Northwell Health RN Fellowships so we can keep in touch with one another. I'm a soon to be graduate nurse and have an interest in ER/ICU! I just applied to both positions today. Looks like they opened on 8/17/21. Hope to chat with you guys soon!

I got into the critical care fellowship for NSUH for oct fellowship, but as an internal hire. It is still very competitive to get in as an internal hire, I was trying since the beginning of the year for a specific ICU. I received my offer yesterday and interviewed two weeks ago. But different ICU's are interviewing on different schedules. Another one of our ICU's are holding interviews Sept. 13/14. Although I know they hire new grads as well, but from what I've heard, externs get a chance at the fellowships as well through that recruiter.

Best of luck everyone, I know I always stalk these threads, so thought I would pay it forward.

Congratulations and thank you for the information! Please keep us updated on the process. I would love to hear what the schedule is like.

Is the program still starting on October 11th? Seems like these interview dates are cutting it close.

Thank you! The program does start Oct 11th, but because I'm an internal hire, my start date is Oct. 17th. The first week is the general orientation to the hospital I believe with New beginnings etc.

Hi,

Has anyone had an interview yet for the ER Fellowship. Any advice or tips? I have mine coming up and want to be really prepared.

thank you

Hi guys! I just applied to the ED and PICU fellowships. I’m an internal candidate and I just graduated at the end of August from an ABSN program. I don’t have my ATT or license yet and probably won’t before the start of this. Does anyone know if that lessens my odds? Also to anyone that’s interviewed or heard back, do you know what the schedules are like? I know for the ones I applied to it says 7p-7a but I was wondering if we start with that right away and weekend rotations or if it’s more a 9-5 M-F thing when we first start. Good luck to everyone and thank you!

it seems to be really competitive although I am an external candidate, I applied for the July one before my NCLEX and never heard back. But I know a friend who got accepted before her NCLEX. After I got my license, I applied again for this one on the second day when the application first opened. Still waiting to hear back as well, but I am losing faith LOL

Did anyone hear about any critical care fellowships at Lenox Hill Hospital? I know the ones they had (and closed) were for NSUH but not sure if any opened up for LHH.

I don’t remember seeing any for LHH this time.

Anyone that has gotten and interview, did they call you asking if your still interested and tell you that they are still interviewing other candidates without setting up an interview? Those who have gotten interviews did they email you for an interview or call you? So far two different fellowships did that. When they say that it kind of give you false hope when they call you and then say they are still interviewing other candidates when they call and ask if your still interested

They called me!

OK how did the call go? Did they call you twice, as in first call ask if your still interested and then call you again for an interview? Or the first time they called you set up an interview with you?

It was fairly quick. The first call they asked me if I was interested because of the location, I said yes, and they said they’d take a look at my video interview and get back to me. Then, a week later I received a call asking me if I were still interested and then they set up an interview with me. They gave me two dates and told me to pick a time.

OK hopefully they call back.
