Northwell Health RN Fellowships Oct 2021

Hi!

Just wanted to create a thread on here for the October 2021 Northwell Health RN Fellowships so we can keep in touch with one another. I'm a soon to be graduate nurse and have an interest in ER/ICU! I just applied to both positions today. Looks like they opened on 8/17/21. Hope to chat with you guys soon!

I did my program out of state and many of my classmates were hired prior to graduating/getting licensed at local hospitals but I have no idea if NY hospitals tend to prefer to hire new grads after they are licensed. 

Good luck to those that received invitations for on-demand interviews! Also- what is an "on-demand" interview? I have literally never heard of this term LOL

Their version of an "on-demand" interview is basically just answering questions on video. I haven't completed mine yet, but I think you only have one shot at recording yourself answering each question.

Yup! I noticed the PICU posting got taken down a day or two before the others. They must’ve received a lot of applications for that.

Has anyone received a phone call or email yet? For those who received emails for interviews, did they call you back yet?

I haven’t heard anything from them. Just a phone call asking if I was interested and that was it.

I also received a phone call asking if I was still interested, too. The recruiter said she’ll take a look at my video interview and they’ll be in contact with me if need be.

Hi everyone,

I applied to both the critical care fellowships on August 18th and haven’t heard back. Was curious if anyone applying to the CC fellowship has heard anything back? My application still says under consideration.

I haven’t heard anything either. I got a call if I was interested but haven’t heard anything after that for a interview or anything

was the phone call about the Critical Care fellowship. I havent heard anything except for the ER one.

LIJ Emergency Department Update:

So I just got a call to schedule an interview. The only dates they gave me were 9/23 or 9/24. 
 

As for the other fellowships, I have received zero information. Not even a phone call asking me if I’m interested. Which is fine because the ED is my preference anyway.

I got into the critical care fellowship for NSUH for oct fellowship, but as an internal hire. It is still very competitive to get in as an internal hire, I was trying since the beginning of the year for a specific ICU. I received my offer yesterday and interviewed two weeks ago. But different ICU's are interviewing on different schedules. Another one of our ICU's are holding interviews Sept. 13/14. Although I know they hire new grads as well, but from what I've heard, externs get a chance at the fellowships as well through that recruiter.
