I worked for their Home care for a while. You can private message me if you want to ask me any questions!

Thanks for responding..unfortunately I don't have the privilege to use private messaging as yet..but I'm just having second thoughts about home care. This will be a new experience for me. Any advice Weill be appreciated

Home care or Mount Sinai.. with your opinion being in the hospital setting.

Have you ever worked in the hospital before? If not then I would take the hospital offer. In my opinion with the amount of patients you see in a day and then completing all the charting It is not "flexible" like they tell you it is. Some people stay up late or wake up extra early just to complete their charting. The "6" patients you see turns into 9 quickly. You do get good at wound care and patient education, insert foleys and apply wound vacs. I'd rather just do my 12 hour shift and not take work home with me. Try asking to shadow a nurse for a day to see if you like it before you committ.

No hospital experience just years of long term.. I was thinking to complete the 6mths then try to transfer. Is it true that once u leave the system u can't get back in? So confuse..

How long did u stay in home care and where are u now?

You cannot transfer until after 1 year in the system. I never heard that once you leave you cannot come back. But if you leave on "bad terms" You will not be rehired.

Lol..sorry. I saw it but still can't respond. I join the group yesterday.

Hello Shelldepeas, did you eventually took the home care job with northwell? I really need your insight, am currently thinking of working for them too. Please tell me about your experience.

Thanks.
