Northern Illinois University Admission to Fall 2014 Program

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone,

I am currenty applying to some nursig schools, and NIU is one of my top choices, I am very nervous and excited at the same time to see if I get accepted, wondering if there is anyone else out there applying too :) maybe we can help each other and get some info :)

I got a 94- I know it's not great but at least way better than passing score of 80 ; )

hey guys! thought i would join the chat cause i just got accepted to niu and am really wanting to get into the nursing program! i am taking the reading comprehension test on monday. I am currently at WCC and got a 91 on their reading test... so i am hoping i do good! what did you guys think of the test?

Hey there! good luk on the test im pretty sure you will do fine :), the test was just readig comprehension you just read passages and answer questions like whats the main idea, what sentence fits better and its only 25 questions long so it wasnt too bad :)

Thanks for the info! I over think things like that so it freaks me out even more.

The wait is killing me! I think I am annoying everyone around me by how much I am stressing out. 2 months to go! Someone told me that they take more students if they receive more funding. I'm hoping it's the case this year!

hey there ksr3412! i know what you mean i hate waiting too! and 2 months is long time! how many students can make it into the program? i heard a total of 140.

That sounds about right. I have heard so many different things. I don't know what else to go by other than a letter in the mail.

hey zivinice. I live 15 mins from college of dupage and I commuted to NIU last semester. It takes me 45 mins to 1 hour to get there. It is not that bad but a little overwhelming at times. You have to have a car that has good gas mileage otherwise it will cost you a lot. I had class 3 days a week and gas ended up costing me about $45 a week for the commute.

Yea it's manageable! :) no I applied to the program for this year and waiting to see if i get accepted so I'm on the same boat as everybody. Good luck to all of you!

what are some other schools that you guys applied to? I applied to UIC but I am really counting on NIU because I don't think I stand a chance for uic.
