Hi guys, anyone else on here applying to northeastern?? Let's keep each other updated if we find out any new info! ?
From my understanding, master's programs for RNs going back to school are almost entirely online, but for direct entry students the masters portions are usually in person (at least to my knowledge) I went to information sessions at Simmons and MGH and I don't recall them mentioning that masters courses were online. I could be completely wrong, alot of the programs blend together. Has anyone heard differently or have any other information?

The direct entry Masters at Simmons and UMASS GEP program are on campus programs (UMASS combines on ground and online learning later in the program).
The director just confirmed this for me. They don’t use the Burlington campus at all, and in the bsn part only 1-2 courses could be online. All others are in person. Out of 5 days in the week 2-3 will be lecture/lab and 1-2 will be clinical and they try to always give one day off a week. Schedule sounds great for adult learning
I had a phone interview with the FNP director Monday 12/30. She said I'd hear back in a week or so, but now it's been over 2 weeks. I was actually thinking about either emailing her or Susan Gallagher today because my deposit for Regis is due next Thursday and if I get into Northeastern, I won't go to Regis.
Has anyone heard from Northeastern recently?

I think calling or emailing Susan would be a great idea.
Like others, I have not heard anything either. I can relate to your deposit situation! I'm getting nervous that schools won't release their decisions in a timely manner when deposits for schools that I've been accepted to will be concurrently due. This is an incredibly stressful process. I've been addicted to refreshing my email every 5-10 minutes.
Hi, I'm applying this fall to the direct entry NNP program and I've been scouring All Nurses for info/advice but I figured its time to post since this school is my top choice. I'm posting my stats and looking for feedback as I'm already extremely nervous.
Major: Psychology
Major GPA: 3.91
Overall GPA: 3.52
Physiology: B
Nutrition: B (took it my freshman year though and my grades overall were not as good back then)
Lifespan/Developmental Psych: A
Anatomy: In progress, expect to get A
Stats: C but retaking it this semester
Micobio; Will be in progress at the time of application
*I've taken 3 semesters of chem and got A's in all of them as well as A in bio100 ans bio203 so I'm hoping that helps*
Healthcare Care Experience:
- 25 hours shadowing PAs and Nps at a hospital in NJ
- 60 hours shadowing/volunteering in Fairdibad Inda for a summer program, also got to see a natural birth, c-section and hysterectomy!
- 120 hours volunteering at an ER during college
- Not sure if this counts because it was 8 years ago but I volunteered at a hospital in high school for 120 hours as well
Research:
- 16 months as a Research Assistant in a Developmental Neuro psychology lab (was in charge of study recruitment, scheduling/project management and administering questionnaires to study participants); 10 of the months I got semester credit for (unpaid) but the summer months was volunteer work and equates to roughly 200 extra volunteer hours
- 2nd author on a paper in the same lab and presented a research poster at the Student Research Symposium at my school
I will have 3 strong LOC including one from my lab manager and 2 from professors.
Anyways, thats it - I'm pretty confident in my writing abilities so I think my personal statement will be really good but I'm nervous about my lack of healthcare experience and having microbio in progress at the time of application. I'm considering saving money to take an 8 week microbio class over the summer and then getting a job as a scribe in August but the only issue is that my current job pays pretty well (I work in sales for a staffing company) and most scribe or patient rep jobs don't. I live in San Diego currently where the cost of living is extremely high so this is a bit of a concern. Anyways, any advice would be SO helpful because as you can tell I'm already kind of freaking out. Thanks!

I am in a similar situation to you. I was wondering if anyone has reached out to Regis to request an extension on the deadline for the deposit.

I reached out to the director of Northeastern's NP program last week since the Regis deadline was coming up and she let me know that I am accepted! I received the official email on Friday.
My friend reached out to Regis about extending the deposit deadline and they said if she didn't submit her deposit by the deadline, she could ask for a re-review at a later date but there is no guarantee of her being accepted again ?

I’m not opposed to the hybrid masters. As far as I’ve learned once you get to the masters portion of the track at other schools it’s mostly online as well (correct me if I’m wrong). The director told me since they restructured the program 2 years ago they have a 100% pass rate on the fnp boards so they must be doing something right/ supporting students however they need. I have a bunch of friends who are RNs doing their masters right now at Simmons and mcphs and both are completely online. Northeastern stresses keeping students connected to the program in the masters part so there’s monthly Full days On campus and the online classes are like big video chats, and then they doing online small group case studies with only a couple students to the professor. If you have any questions or concerns I would definitely reach out to the director for details on the exact structure and support during the masters section
