Hi,
Years ago I met with the director of this program and really loved it. Over the past 2+ years I've been doing the prereqs and volunteering at a hospital. It began to go to the backburner because I felt an accel BSN would be a better choice. Well now that I am ready to apply I can't get this program out of my head as being the top choice. SO I'm aiming on the GRE's for Sept to apply for their deadline. Just wanted to see if any students could provide some input on their experience there, and post graduation. I had a NP a few years ago at Harvard Vanguard in Copley who was a graduate and said such great things. I also can see that only Northeastern students get these intern positions at MGH (I'm sure there are internships open to all as well, but I see just Northeastern ones- I'm an employee at Partners). This makes me think they have an advantage... anywho, any feedback would be sooo greatly appreciated!!:redbeathe
Thanks!
My 7 schools were Northeastern, UMass Worcester, BC, Southern Maine, Pace, Jefferson, and Marquette. I already got rejected from BC, S. Maine, Pace, and just got my letter from Marquette last night that I wasn't accepted. It specifically said I didn't meet the admission requirements which is not at all true... why would I apply to a school if I didn't meet the requirements?
I'm telling you Mellzie - these letters do a number on your self esteem! I'm currently looking at applying to a few ABSN programs (Curry, MGH) with application deadlines coming up in April and July (and fees at $100 each!)... then I can always pursue the MS after. I just don't know if I'm even on the same level as other applicants at this point. I surpass all the criteria, but apparently it's just not enough so far...
Thanks for sharing Barbaraleev! I have mine in a couple of hours and really don't know what to expect. I was hoping there wouldn't be job interview type questions, and instead be more focused on my nursing aspirations. Sounds like that's the case, right? I'm glad you had a good experience. Good luck!
Just had my interview, I'm going for PNP-AC. Interviewer was very warm and friendly and relatable (we both worked in the Bronx) so it wasn't nerve-wrecking for me. I don't think my interviewer read my personal statement b/c I'd mention things that I'd put into my essay and she would be surprised by it, but it was clear she had my resume in front of her. Like Barabaleev said, it's more about expressing to the nursing faculty what led you to nursing. 25/368 = top 6.8%, yikes. Good luck all!

It's very frustrating. But at least you have been wait listed... that's something. I'd be happy with anything right about now... starting to feel pretty inferior!
